The Medical and Biological Computing Laboratory is based at the School of Biosciences and technology, Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore, India. The lab was established by Prof. Anand Anbarasu with grants from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). Our research group integrates genomics, systems biology and structural approaches to discover novel biological and therapeutic markers for infectious diseases and cancer.
Antimicrobial Informatics Our research team was probably the first group to use systems biology to understand antimicrobial resistance with the support from ICMR and DST-SERB (Government of India funding agency for scientific research). In an era of global antimicrobial resistance threat, we are committed to find theranostic solutions using state-of-the art computational approaches and integrating with our experimental collaborators from leading Institutes in India.
Cancer Informatics Cancer Informatics is an engaging field employing computational methods for solving intricate and impending questions in cancer biology. Our research group is currently establishing systems biology approaches for identifying theranostics biomarkers for various cancers.
